The laws governing non-profit organizations have similarities to their for-profit counterparts, but non-profit laws and regulations contain many requirements and restrictions that are unique.  Furthermore, religious organizations continue to face their own distinct challenges - especially in recent decades.

Michelle A. Adams specializes in the nuanced area of tax-exempt public charities, assisting Christian ministries here and abroad through their initial stages of formation as nonprofit entities in the United States, the process of obtaining federal income tax exemption, and the related ongoing compliance and governance issues.

Although raised in Michigan, Michelle obtained her B.A. in International Business & Global Economics from Cedarville University in Ohio, then her J.D. from Regent University in Virginia Beach.  Before law school, Michelle focused on the area of workforce development at a Chamber of Commerce in Ohio where she gained exposure to the hidden legal needs of nonprofit organizations.  Through that experience Michelle was able to envision a nexus between her passion for international outreach and a legal career.  Since then, Michelle has assisted numerous evangelistic, social, and humanitarian missions organizations.

Michelle is a member of both the State Bar of Idaho and State Bar of Georgia.  She currently resides in Boise, Idaho with her husband (and two cocker spaniels).  Both have a strong desire to see the expansion of God's kingdom through His church, both here and abroad.

Romans 12:4-8  For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.  Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith; if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching; or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
